SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! OCEAN VIEWS
IS NOW PART OF THE WINDLAND AWARDS
Winners will be displayed on the walls of the Smithsonian!
As of January 2, 2017, all images that were submitted to the 2016 Ocean Views photo contest will automatically be included in the Windland Smith Rice International Awards competition for 2017.
What does this mean?
1. The 2016 Ocean Views entries will migrate into the Windland Smith Rice International Awards opening January 2, and the Oceans category will now be called “Ocean Views.”
2. This change brings the opportunity to have your work displayed in the Fall 2017 print exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. — one of the most prestigious and highly-visited museums in the world.
3. The category Winner and Highly Honored images will be published in Alert Diver and Nature’s Best Photography magazines and promoted online.
4. The Ocean Views category will be judged this spring and summer as part of the Windland Awards.
We hope you are excited about this transition that will bring more exposure to this important realm. Ocean photography is a very popular topic among museum visitors. It is inspiring to see the impact photographs can make on conservation and public awareness.
